Job summary

Bright Side Recruitment Ltd in South London is seeking a mechanically biased Service Engineer to transition into Lift Engineering. This permanent role runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a chance to apply your hands-on skills to the lift industry.

You will maintain equipment at client sites, diagnose repairs on-site, replace and service machinery, and provide technical guidance while documenting activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer or Electro/Mechanical Engineer, preferably in lift or similar industry.
• Desire to cross train and apply skills to lift engineering.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine and periodic maintenance at client sites
• Respond promptly to periodic emergency service calls from clients
• Diagnose repair requirements and conduct on-site repairs where possible
• Replace, maintain, and service all necessary equipment, machinery, and systems
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on maintenance and usage
• Document all service and repair activities accurately with detailed records
• Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery

About The Role

The ideal candidate should possess a solid Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical background, and the desire to cross train and apply their skills to the Lift industry. This is a permanent, full time opportunity, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Your primary duties will include

• Undertake routine and periodic maintenance at a variety of client sites
• Promptly responding to periodic emergency service calls from clients
• Correctly diagnosing any repair requirements and (where possible), conduct on-site repairs
• Replace, maintain, and service all necessary equipment, machinery, and systems
• Providing technical support and guidance to clients on maintenance and usage of equipment
• Document all service and repair activities accurately and maintaining detailed records
• Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer or an Electro/Mechanical Engineer, preferably gained within the lift (or similar) industry, or a similar field
• An appropriate Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical qualification (HNC, HND, BTech, NVQ – or equivalent.
• EOR202 (Desirable)
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
