Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Lift Engineer for a permanent position in South London. You will carry out LOLER inspections, visit client sites, and produce detailed reports on equipment condition and compliance.

The role requires NVQ3 Lift Engineering or equivalent, with experience in servicing and repairing lifts, plus a full UK driving license. A company vehicle and bonus scheme are included as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in Lift Engineering.
• Proven experience carrying out service/maintenance lift inspections.
• Experience diagnosing/repairing a variety of lifts.
• Able to work autonomously in a customer-facing role.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures applicable to the role.
• Full UK Driving license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out statutory LOLER inspections on lifting equipment.

• Survey existing plants and report on service delivery and compliance.
• Provide options for refurbishment or replacement with modular designs.
• Carry out visual surveys and produce benchmark reports.

Overview

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic Engineering and Construction business who are looking to recruit a Lift Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth located in the South London area.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To carry out statutory LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment and inspections to be carried out thoroughly and to an excellent standard.
• Attending sites, examining a wide variety of lifting equipment and issuing reports to clients.
• Surveying existing plants to provide a report upon the incumbent service provider's service delivery, compliance with current Health & Safety Legislation, Disability Discrimination Act compliance and short/medium/long term comments regarding lift cycle analysis of the plant.
• Provide an overview report of possible options for either refurbishment of existing installation or possible replacement with a new pre-engineered modular design solution.
• Carry out visual surveys of existing installations to 'benchmark' the installation against our in-house predetermined 'quality' expectations and produce reports.
• Providing professional advice on the incumbent service provider as to their overall performance and service delivery and produce reports.
• Travelling independently to attend customer sites/premises as required.
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of products and full range of accessories.
• Completing test certificates and associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Abide by Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• To work in a manner that is methodical, efficient, considerate and respectful to clients at all times and providing excellent customer service.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate.

Qualifications and experience

• Qualified (or equivalent experience) to at least NVQ 3 - Lift Engineering.
• Proven experience of carrying out service/maintenance lift inspections.
• Experience of independently diagnosing / repairing a variety of lifts.
• Experience working autonomously in a customer facing role.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Excellent understanding of current Health & Safety procedures and standards applicable to the job role.
• Full UK Driving license.
