Job summary

Imperium Automation is expanding its field service team and seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites across multiple locations in the UK. The role requires flexibility for shift cover, breakdown responses and preventative maintenance on material handling and robotics systems.

You will join a dynamic team, liaising with customers and client resident engineers, with strong focus on safety, problem solving and professional

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or Apprentice Trained Electrical / Multi Skilled.
  • Experience with PLCs.
  • Experience in Automated Distribution Centres.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, method statements, permits and safe working.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience liaising with customers professionally.
  • IPAF trained and able to work at height and in confined spaces.
  • Able to work independently and with client resident engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites.
  • Provide shift coverage and respond to breakdowns at multiple sites.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on material handling and storage/retrieval systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, robotics, etc.
  • Assist with installations and projects predominantly at Distribution Centres.
  • Represent Imperium Automation professionally to client teams at all times.

Job description

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

SALARY £50,000 - £55,000 DOE
OTE £70,000 +

We are looking to expand Imperium Automation's dynamic team of Field Service Engineers with vacancies available to cover various geographic regions and a number of OEM solutions across our client base.

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites, ensuring minimal downtime and excellent customer satisfaction. If you have a passion for problem-solving, a hands-on approach, and strong technical expertise, we want to talk to you !

This is a varied role and that will see you providing shift cover, responding to breakdowns at multiple sites and carrying out preventative maintenance on material handling and storage retrieval systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, robotics etc while assisting with installations and projects predominately at, but not limited to, Distribution Centres.

You will need to be a strong communicator and to be able to integrate with resident teams at our clients sites ensuring that you are representing Imperium Automation in a professional manner at all times.

As a business we offer 24/7/365 reactive maintenance support to our clients and you will need to offer a degree of flexibility to ensure we meet their expectations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience for this Field Service Engineer Role
  • NVQ Level 3 or Apprentice Trained Electrical / Multi Skilled
  • Good understanding of PLC's
  • Experience of working in Automated Distribution Centres
  • Sound awareness of risk assessment, method statements, permits and working safely.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with liaising with customers in a professional manner
  • IPAF trained and confident working at height, confined spaces
  • Confidently work on your own and with customer resident engineering team
