Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a Service Engineer to cover the South East of England, with flexible location options. The role focuses on planned preventative maintenance across environmental protection equipment, supporting operations and delivering compliant, high-quality service.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, RAMS documentation, and the ability to produce reports and proposals while travelling as required and holding a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Audit sites for compliance with Adler and Allan standards and safety practices.
  • Promote safety and maintain professional service delivery.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly through problem solving.
  • Assist in delivery of interceptor installations, decommissioning, and servicing.
  • Prepare scopes of work, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals after site surveys and submit paperwork in a timely manner.

Service Engineer
Location Flexible - South East of England
Full time/permanent

We are seeking a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)Service Engineerto play a crucial role indelivering the technical aspects across a broad spectrum of engineering, supporting the Operations delivery teams and undertaking roles involving the servicing of environmental protection equipment.You will bekey to technical proposals/ solutions for clients, ensuring that delivery is executed according to relevant standards and good practice guidance.

More about the role:

  • Audit sites to ensure compliance with Adler and Allan standards and specifications, client expectations and sound safety practices are observed.
  • Promote safety to ensure we operate a safe and professional service.
  • Be able to problem solve and resolve issues on site.
  • Assist in the delivery of interceptor installations, de-commissioning, and servicing.
  • Continually assess and ensure day to day operations and service delivery is of the highest quality, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare scopeof works documents, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Operating Company vehicles which the post holder is suitably qualified to operate.
  • Preparation of estimates and proposals to clients following site surveys.
  • Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to depot and group management.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Basic knowledge of single and three-phase motors.
  • Knowledge of separator/interceptor systems.Possess an understanding of relevant standards and good practice, BS EN 858-2:2003 Separator systems for light liquids and BS EN 1825 for Grease separators is preferable.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical control panels.
  • Knowledge of Sewage Treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Possess knowledge and experience of issuing and completing RAMS documentation.
  • Possess a sound engineering knowledge.
  • A willingness to work in an environment of change, dealing with emergency works is essential.
  • Due to the nature of the role a flexible approach to working hours, travel and working days is required.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and E Mail; must be able to prepare and present reports using such applications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training as required to meet the needs of the depot/ group.
  • Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable to Hold:

  • 18th Edition wiring regulations – BS7671.
  • Electrical or mechanical competencies – Level 2/3/NVQ or equivalent
