I am working with a fantastic client throughout the UK and looking to recruit an experienced field service material handling engineer, ideally mechanically biased, in the Bristol area. This role offers extensive training and career progression.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- To find, diagnose, and rectify faults on customer FLTs as deemed necessary, including ordering the necessary spare parts efficiently.
- To provide reliable information to the customer regarding maintenance, repairs, and advice on equipment use and updates.
- Ensure all automated systems and paperwork (job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions, parts paperwork) / IT systems are maintained properly.
- To liaise with the Service Controller, customer, and Service Manager to share information about forklifts and equipment.
- Make proposals for improvements and ensure Engineering Standards and Safe Working Practices are followed at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, movement records, and obtain hour meter readings/site information at each visit.
- Ensure all company-issued equipment and tooling (including van, laptop, printer, etc.) are kept in a satisfactory, clean, and safe condition, and report any failures.
Ideally, to apply for this role you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an associated occupation.
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical competencies.
- A full and valid driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers and internal colleagues.
- Proficient IT skills, e.g., Word, Excel, email.
- The ability to prioritize and work independently or as part of a team, using own initiative.
- A positive, flexible approach and a can-do attitude.
- Previous experience as a forklift technician, plant fitter, or vehicle technician, ideally from motor, plant, or agricultural backgrounds.
