DiPerk Power Solutions are the only authorised OEM distributor for Perkins in the UK and Ireland, providing support for complex or minor repairs and regular interval servicing for plant, electric power, agricultural or marine equipment.
Major Job Functions:
- Communicate with customer / End user to ensure knowledge of customer procedures, adhere to site requirements. Provide an estimate of arrival time. (10%)
- Perform pre-task assessments to ensure the site and tasks are safe and in line with Diperk/Finning safety standards. (20%)
- Carry out complex diagnosis to determine the cause of engine problems, including mechanical and electrical issues, using Perkins EST and specialist diagnosis equipment. Provide detailed reports for quoting. (25%)
- Identify parts required for repairs, requisition parts, and plan service re-visits with the customer. (10%)
- Undertake major overhauls, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on Perkins engines, including component removal, dispatch, and reinstallation. (25%)
- Support call-out rota for out-of-hours breakdowns, with travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays. (10%)

Knowledge:
- Experience with diagnosis tools and equipment
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and engine systems including aftertreatment
- Power generation systems knowledge
- Warranty processes (desirable)
Accountability:
- Conduct site risk assessments and prepare method statements
- Inspect and test completed machines, report defects, and ensure safety compliance
- Complete service reports and warranty documentation for billing
Education & Experience:
- Engineering qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a field service environment
- Experience working with customers and heavy earth-moving equipment
- Construction, static machines, power generation experience
- Full UK driving license
The candidate will be provided with a service van, laptop, and mobile phone, along with distributor-level training using the latest diagnostic equipment.
