The Field Sales Manager (FSM) should successfully lead a team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to deliver the sales strategy and meet the performance metrics identified for their area of responsibility.

The FSM will develop the sales strategy by creating a clear Market Strategy Plan (MSP). They will manage the TSM team and take ownership of larger value key accounts, which may extend beyond their geographical boundary.

The FSM will play a key role in developing effective relationships with key customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to create sales opportunities and develop a competitive advantage.

Leadership and Management
  • Lead, inspire, motivate, and develop the sales team to execute the sales strategy
  • Direct line management of several TSMs
  • Develop and update quarterly MSPs and drive performance to achieve sales volume, price, and margin targets
  • Use market data, including ABI, to identify profitable sales opportunities
  • Manage TSM performance based on defined metrics and report to the Regional Director
  • Ensure structured activity planning for TSMs, aligned with their Territory Plan
  • Act as an escalation point for TSMs and customers
  • Ensure TSM call cycles for customers and prospects are defined and followed, utilizing digital media including video calls
  • Assist in preparing quotes and tenders
Key Account Management
  • Drive the delivery of high-quality Customer Management Plans (CMPs) for existing and potential new customers
  • Take ownership of larger key accounts beyond geographical boundaries
  • Identify strategic business opportunities with key influencers
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key influencers in major customer segments
  • Ensure queries are resolved within the defined timeframe, aiming for less than 3% of revenue in queries
  • Coordinate with colleagues on the same accounts for consistent service
  • Collaborate with other sales teams to reach prospective customers
  • Service multiple customers concurrently, including prospects and existing clients
  • Review Net Promoter Scores (NPS) to identify performance issues and improve customer experience
Education/Qualifications
  • Minimum of Grade 4 (C) at GCSE in Maths and English
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sales/management
  • Degree level preferred
