Job description

The Team

The Chinese Category team collaborates with the UKI Commercial teams to enhance Deliveroo’s performance across four nations. We are experts in local markets from Brighton to Belfast. As part of this team, you will recruit top Chinese restaurants in your region. Regional UKI offers significant growth opportunities, and we are building a team of experienced professionals to realize this potential. You will work within Manchester and the surrounding areas, reporting to the London Chinese Category Client Partner.

The Role

This role offers a chance to be a key member of a growing business in a competitive market. Your responsibilities include building relationships with new Chinese restaurant partners, enhancing our customer proposition, and supporting our rapid growth. It is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building.

Note: A valid driving license and access to a car are preferred, as travel around Manchester and nearby areas is required. This role involves significant travel and is not a typical office-based job.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Identify, prospect, pitch, and close new restaurants in your region in an organized manner, becoming a local expert on emerging and popular restaurants.

  2. Communicate in Chinese via visits, emails, calls, and social media to demonstrate Deliveroo’s technology to restaurant partners.

  3. Manage the restaurant onboarding process to ensure efficiency and a seamless experience.

  4. Support restaurant success within the first eight weeks of signing.

  5. Sample food from a variety of high-quality restaurants.

  6. Attend restaurant and food industry meet-ups.

KPIs

  1. Number of restaurants signed each month.

  2. Performance of signed restaurants in the first three months.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.

  • Comfortable targeting and approaching new businesses.

  • Strong negotiation skills to create win-win deals for restaurants and Deliveroo.

  • Understanding of the food delivery industry’s economics for both restaurants and Deliveroo.

  • Excellent communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.

  • Ability to demonstrate product and industry knowledge to clients.

  • Ability to take ownership and work towards demanding targets.

  • Interest in food and restaurant industry.

  • Tenacious and motivated to achieve results.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
