Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, covers three branches in Kilmarnock and Ayr, and seeks a results-driven sales professional. You will manage and grow a customer portfolio, build relationships, and proactively visit sites to maximise revenue and account growth.

You will coordinate with branch teams to ensure accurate orders, deliver excellent customer service, and identify opportunities to expand trading across the wider network. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in builders’ merchants, suppliers or construction is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to grow customer accounts and identify new sales opportunities.
• Strong customer relationships and the ability to engage across multiple branches.
• Confident communicating with customers by phone, email and face-to-face, including site visits.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of customers across three branches in Kilmarnock and Ayr.
• Build strong customer relationships, understand their needs and identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
• Be proactive and visible, including regular customer and site visits.
• Manage estimates, orders and projects, ensuring a smooth customer experience from enquiry through to delivery.
• Follow up and requote projects to achieve revenue, margin and growth targets.
• Target dormant and lapsed accounts to reactivate and grow customer spend.
• Support onboarding of new accounts and help establish ongoing trading relationships.
• Work closely with branches to ensure orders are accurate, prioritised and aligned with customer requirements.
• Build strong supplier relationships and work collaboratively to grow customer business.
• Look beyond immediate branch to identify opportunities with local branches.
• Support and coach branch colleagues, sharing knowledge as needed.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
