Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is sourcing a Roadside Technician for a national breakdown company operating across the UK. This field-based role covers Guildford and surrounding areas, with a strong salary package and bonus opportunities.

You will attend roadside breakdowns, perform mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, use diagnostic tools, and guide members on next steps while keeping safety at the forefront. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
