Job summary

Wolviston Management Services is recruiting for Field Process Operators to join ConocoPhillips at the Seal Sands facility on Teesside. You will operate, monitor and optimise high-hazard process plant, ensuring safe startup/shutdown, alarm response and effective handovers.

Strong safety focus and ability to work with maintenance and engineering teams are essential. Experience in distillation, hydrocarbon processing, DCS and control-room operations is valued, with emphasis on precise process

Are you an experienced Field Process Operator looking for your next opportunity?

Wolviston Management Services is recruiting experienced and safety-focused Process Operators to join our client, ConocoPhillips, at their Seal Sands facility on Teesside.

We are seeking candidates with backgrounds in oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, energy or other high-hazard continuous process industries.

The ideal candidates will have strong process operating fundamentals, excellent safety awareness and the ability to operate, monitor and troubleshoot complex plant systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate, monitor and optimise process plant and equipment.
• Support plant start-up, shutdown and routine operating activities.
• Monitor process conditions, respond to alarms and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Carry out field operations and DCS/control-room activities.
• Support plant isolations, Permit to Work (PTW) systems and maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with Maintenance and Engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate operational records and deliver effective shift handovers.
• Ensure compliance with operating procedures, safety standards and process limits.

Experience We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

• Distillation, fractionation and hydrocarbon processing
• Separation processes, process columns and reflux systems
• Boilers, steam systems and water treatment
• Pumps, compressors, valves and heat exchangers
• Fuel gas systems and gas turbines
• Process monitoring, optimisation and troubleshooting
• Plant start-up, shutdown and recommissioning
• DCS and control-room operations

Safety & Technical Competencies

• Permit to Work (PTW) and ISSOW or equivalent systems
• Risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Plant, equipment and energy isolation
• Breaking containment and process safety
• Major accident hazard awareness
• Emergency response procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Process Plant Operations, City & Guilds Process Plant Operations, or an equivalent relevant process/engineering qualification.
• Previous experience within a continuous process or high-hazard industrial environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, safety-first approach with the confidence to stop work and escalation concerns.
• Full UK driving licence.
