Job Title: Field Performance Manager - ICA (Instrumentation, Control and Automation)

Location: Hampshire

Salary: up to £51,000 depending on experience (plus business needs car)

Job Summary

To be responsible and accountable for the performance, and effectiveness of a team of highly skilled ICA (Instrumentation, Control and Automation) technicians and engineers in a specified geographical area. Ensuring the team are maintaining assets (both planned and reactively) to optimise operational performance, following all policies and procedures to remain safe, compliant and cost effective.

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager within the Water Resource & Production function, you will be managing around 8 x ICA technicians and engineers. Responsible for ensuring effective Instrumentation, Control and Automation maintenance on a number of sites within a specified geographic area, including Water Supply Works, Water Booster Stations, and Service Water Reservoirs.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• To build, lead and direct a competent and effective team to deliver compliance, service levels and serviceability targets
• To undertake high level monitoring of operational performance and to take action to resolve as necessary.
• To liaise with external contractors on works affecting site(s) and supporting with managing them where required
• To ensure safety processes and procedures are followed within the operational area and ensure that the team comply with the requirements of Health and Safety as set out by Southern Water
• To coach, mentor, develop and performance manage the team with a key focus on employee engagement to deliver compliance at least cost.
• To deal with external regulatory bodies and represent the company to the media as required
• To manage events and incidents in own team/operational area in and out-of-hours as required.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Requires a basic understanding of all operational processes and how they link end-to-end
• Must be able to analyse management information and understand what the drivers are and identify problems
• Requires a good understanding of ICA technologies and processes. - Qualifications - HNC or HND in Instrumentation, Control and Automation engineering
