Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Based in Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote). Telent is a leading technology company enabling critical infrastructure through innovative solutions. We are seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area, including the top of M25, M4, M11, and other major motorways.

Responsibilities:

• Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables to ensure network functionality.
• Complete commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget.
• Address equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Complete all required documentation promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing within fibre or copper environments.

• Experience working on motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
