Job description

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Field Operations Technician to join their repairs team in Croydon.

As part of a heating maintenance team, the successful candidate will support repairs and maintenance operatives in commercial plant rooms and dwellings, including heating installations and appliances. Responsibilities include assisting and advising the team on work progress, monitoring performance, producing improvement plans, providing technical support, and identifying training needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Support and monitor a team servicing, repairing, maintaining, and installing gas and heating plant and appliances, following manufacturer instructions.
2. Assist and advise on work progress, general repairs, and breakdowns of plant and equipment, including appliances and heating systems.
3. Deliver all PPM and cyclical maintenance, ensuring records are updated in the NAV system and engineers' PDAs.
4. Monitor engineers' performance, time management, parts usage, and costs, and advise on resource planning.
5. Survey and estimate project works and maintain related administrative processes.
6. Manage team performance through KPIs and management information to maximize efficiency.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• ACS qualifications: CCN1, CEN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1.
• Experience working in a multi-site environment.
• Experience in high-volume, high-pressure settings.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience diagnosing faults on domestic gas central heating systems.
• Full driving license.
• Health and safety certifications (e.g., Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid).
• Gas Safety certification.
• Experience in customer service roles dealing directly with the public.
