Job summary

South East Water is recruiting a hands-on Network Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term field role across the South East region. You will lead two critical projects including a WAN upgrade and security hardware deployments, working in tight two-person teams with direct site impact.

This role focuses on on-site installations, cabling, and power systems, with 37 hours weekly and a strong emphasis on practical problem solving and collaboration with non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• CCNA or CompTIA certification or equivalent training.
• Experience with physical network installations, patching, and enclosure mounting.
• Knowledge of routing, switching and security protocols.
• Comfort with low-voltage power systems (DC/AC).
• Strong communication with site partners and non-technical users.
• Experience with Google Workspace/M365 and cloud infra or ITIL in utilities.

Responsibilities

• On-site execution across South East sites installing, maintaining and decommissioning equipment.
• Hardware mounting in cabinets, switches, routers and structured cabling.
• Manage 230V AC, 24V/48V DC power systems for devices.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for routing, switching and security issues.
