Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is recruiting a Meter Reader for the Southampton area on an ongoing contract. You will join a dedicated metering team to install, maintain, and manage meters and ensure accurate billing while recording readings on handheld devices.

The role requires outdoor work, the ability to plan routes, excellent customer service, and a self-motivated, independent approach. A full UK driving licence is essential and DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and energetic.
• Able to work outdoors and walk several miles daily.
• Full UK driving licence (not required in London).
• Able to manage appointments and work independently.
• Able to meet timescales and under pressure.
• Excellent customer service and data accuracy.
• Provide 5 years employment history.
• Able to pass DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and manage gas, electricity, and water meters.
• Plan routes and record meter readings using handheld devices.
• Provide excellent customer service while working outdoors in all weather.
• Ensure customers are billed accurately and energy usage monitored.
