Job summary

phs Wastekit is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair recycling equipment across customer sites. You will handle reactive servicing and planned maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Key duties include diagnosing faults, planning daily workload, and coordinating with service controllers to meet SLAs. A UK driving licence is essential, with travel across regions and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• The role requires field service experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding.
• Ability to service balers, compactors and recycling equipment.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Independent, proactive problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining balers, compactors and recycling equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Planning and managing your daily workload effectively.
• Working closely with service controllers and supervisors to deliver excellent customer service.
• Meeting service level agreements and performance targets.
• Taking ownership of engineering issues through to resolution.
• Occasional travel outside your region, including overnight stays when required.

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills? Do you enjoy solving technical problems and delivering excellent customer service?

At phs Wastekit, we're looking for a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair our recycling equipment across customer sites. Working both reactively and on planned maintenance schedules, you'll play a key role in helping our customers keep their operations running efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

• Servicing and maintaining balers, compactors and recycling equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Planning and managing your daily workload effectively.
• Working closely with service controllers and supervisors to deliver excellent customer service.
• Meeting service level agreements and performance targets.
• Taking ownership of engineering issues through to resolution.
• Occasional travel outside your region, including overnight stays when required.

What We’re Looking For

• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience using electrical and hydraulic testing equipment.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
