LaBella Associates in Birmingham, AL seeks a Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist to work on field and office projects within our Waste & Recycling division. You will perform groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling, and support report preparation.

Candidates should have a B.S. in Geology or Environmental Science and 1–3 years of related experience; OSHA HAZWOPER is a plus. The role offers opportunities to supervise field activities and advance within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Geology or Environmental Science preferred.
• 1-3 years of environmental-related experience.
• 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting environment.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Organized with strong attention to detail.
• Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude.
• Valid AL driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work including groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling.
• Submit samples to a laboratory for analysis.
• Manage and evaluate field and lab data.
• Supervise contractors and drillers.
• Support project managers on various projects.
• Balance a mix of office and field time.
