LaBella Associates is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL team in the Waste & Recycling Division. The role focuses on planning, design development, and mentoring junior staff, while managing multi-discipline project teams.

Travel to client facilities and other offices is required to understand site conditions and ensure project progress. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, are licensed P.E., and have 10–15 years of solid-waste project experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and design software.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams on design projects.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and manage design/master planning projects.
• Develop master plans and design drawings for solid-waste site projects.
• Prepare reports, studies and secure permitting for projects.
• Coordinate activities with internal staff and external consultants.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise staff across offices.
• Travel to client sites to assess conditions and oversee construction.
