Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in Birmingham is seeking a Junior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join a growing team working on contaminated land, ground investigations and brownfield redevelopment across the UK.

The role offers a permanent contract with a competitive salary (£28,000–£35,000 DOE), structured training, mentoring, and clear progression opportunities within a friendly, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the delivery of geo-environmental and contaminated land projects
  • Undertaking site investigations, soil sampling, and groundwater monitoring
  • Logging soil and rock samples in accordance with industry standards
  • Supporting the preparation of Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigation Reports
  • Assisting with contaminated land risk assessments and remediation projects
  • Collecting, interpreting, and analysing environmental and geological data
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures during site works
  • Supporting senior staff with project delivery across Birmingham and the wider UK

Key Responsibilities
