Job summary

Neos Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Generator for a field-based role covering the Midlands and wider UK. You will service, maintain and repair generators, primarily within your region, with travel across the UK as needed and occasional overnight stays.

The role suits a time-served engineer who is technically strong, independent, and comfortable in a customer-facing environment, with a full right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience with generator control systems such as ComAp / DSE.
• Experience using PC-based engine analysis and control software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Diagnose and repair generator faults.
• Attend reactive breakdowns and provide first-response technical support.
• Complete remedial works and repairs.
• Work on generator systems from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Diagnose electrical and control-system faults.
• Complete service documentation and customer reports.
• Maintain strong customer relationships.
• Work safely and maintain high standards of presentation.
• Participate in out-of-hours callout rota.
• Travel throughout the UK when required with overnight stays.
