Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Generator Engineer for a global power generation specialist, based on Bedfordshire sites, servicing diesel and gas generators, CHP systems and related equipment.

You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, respond to breakdowns, and ensure maximum uptime while benefiting from manufacturer training, overtime and a company van. This role offers clear opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

Experience servicing diesel generators, gas generators, CHP systems or similar power generation equipment.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding skills.
Recognised engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
Full UK Driving Licence.
Happy to participate in an on‑call rota.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on diesel and gas-powered generators across Bedfordshire.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
Service generators and associated equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.
Complete service reports, maintenance records and timesheets.
Build strong relationships with customers to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
