Position Overview: As a Field Engineer in our Oil and Gas division, you will respond to customer’s repair and service requests. You will diagnose and provide detailed information about the problem to both the customer and Finning to generate a quote, ensuring it is cost and time-effective.

Working within Finning’s industry-leading field service department, and for the largest CAT dealer in the UK and Ireland, you will be at the forefront of the company's site diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products.

Location: This field role will be based from home and will report to the Aberdeen depot.

Job Description:

Your duties include responding to customer’s repair and service requests, diagnosing issues, and providing comprehensive details to facilitate quoting and repairs.

Main Job Functions

1. Provide an estimated arrival time based on job instructions, including customer location, machine details, contact information, and nature of the problem.
2. Register your arrival and presence on site with customer management, adhering to site procedures.
3. Diagnose equipment problems using specialized equipment and discuss findings with customer operators/supervisors, providing detailed information for quoting.
4. Identify necessary parts, requisition them, and coordinate delivery to schedule service visits.
5. Perform repair and service work according to the work plan, including removing, dispatching, and reinstalling components.
