Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking qualified ElectricPower and Cooling Engineers for permanent field roles across Devon, Plymouth, and Cornwall. The position covers LV/HV systems, generators, UPS, cooling, and alarms across diverse sites.

A structured 18‑month training programme is provided with all City and Guilds qualifications fully funded by the company. You will maintain and repair critical infrastructure, gain hands-on experience, and benefit from a company vehicle, ongoing

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ Level 3 equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Must be based within the Devon, Plymouth, or Cornwall patch area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair, and fault diagnosis on LV and HV electrical systems, generators, UPS, emergency lighting, cooling, and alarm systems.
• Take ownership of a designated geographic patch and contribute to area and regional performance objectives.
• Identify and report HSE, compliance, and design issues to relevant teams.
• Execute prioritised work items in coordination with patch manager and senior colleagues.
• Carry out risk assessments and adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices across the team.
• Contribute to on-call coverage under a 1-in-4 framework once trained.
