Job summary

Expert Employment Limited in Bolton is seeking a permanent Electrical Service Engineer (PLC Autom) to install, commission, maintain and fault-find electrical and PLC-controlled machinery at client sites across the UK and internationally.

You should be a time-served electrical engineer, ideally with HNC/HND, with strong commissioning and diagnostic experience, PLC programming skills (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley), and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Time served Electrical Engineer with HNC/HND level or equivalent.
• Strong commissioning and fault finding experience.
• PLC programming and advanced troubleshooting with Siemens S7/Allen-Bradley.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and communication networks.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and IT skills.
• Ability to travel extensively across the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission electrical equipment and automated production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, control system and PLC faults.
• Install and commission machinery upgrades and modifications.
• Work with industrial networks (Ethernet, Profibus).
• Provide technical support and customer training.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Mentor apprentices and junior engineers.
• Engage in a varied, customer-facing role using advanced automation.
