Job summary

Expert Employment Limited seeks an Electrical Service Engineer specializing in PLC automation to join a leading engineering organisation delivering industrial automation, production machinery and packaging systems. You will install, commission and maintain electrical and PLC controlled equipment at client sites across the UK and internationally, diagnosing faults and upgrading systems.

The role requires time served electrical engineering, PLC skills, and willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Time served Electrical Engineer with HNC/HND or equivalent.
• Strong commissioning and fault-finding experience.
• PLC programming skills with Siemens/S7 or Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
• Knowledge of industrial automation networks and IT basics.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission electrical equipment and automated production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, control system and PLC faults.
• Install and commission machinery upgrades and modifications.
• Work with Ethernet and Profibus networks for communication.
• Provide technical support and training to customers.
• Complete service reports and technical documentation.
• Support apprentices and junior engineers on site.

Electrical Service Engineer, PLC Automation

Electrical Service Engineer required to join a leading engineering organisation specialising in industrial automation, production machinery and packaging systems.

The role involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of electrical and PLC controlled machinery at client sites throughout the UK and internationally.

Requirements

• Time served Electrical Engineer, ideally qualified to HNC or HND level or equivalent.
• Strong electrical engineering, commissioning and fault finding experience.
• PLC programming and advanced troubleshooting skills, particularly Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley ControlLogix, PLC5 or SLC500.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and communication networks.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally.
• Experience with food and beverage production, filling or packaging machinery, or previous field service experience, would be advantageous.
