Job summary

Microtech Global Ltd. invites applications for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems across power stations, wind farms, and BESS projects.

Based out of the Southampton area with UK-wide travel, this hands-on role covers installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring safe energisation and regulatory compliance. The role requires site-based commissioning with flexibility for travel across the UK, 37.5 hours a week, and a strong emphasis

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Electrical apprenticeship or relevant training completed.
• Full UK driving licence held.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, testing, and fault finding on LV/MV/HV systems.
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings for installation and commissioning.
• Commission control panels, protection devices, and switchgear.
• Support renewable energy projects (wind, BESS) and on-site handover.
• Prepare/test records and handover documentation; ensure safety compliance.
• Liaise with customers, project teams and subcontractors; support FAT/SAT activities.
