Field Clinical Specialist - United Kingdom

ABOUT ORGANOX: OrganOx is an innovative, fast-paced, global medical device company with a mission to save lives by making every donated organ count. We are a commercial stage organ technology company, spun out of the University of Oxford in 2008, committed to improving transplantation outcomes worldwide. Our first product, the OrganOx metra normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) system for liver transplantation, has supported over 5,000 liver transplants globally. As part of our ongoing expansion, we seek a motivated Field Clinical Specialist to join our UK team.

Position Summary: The Field Clinical Specialist will be responsible for training, supporting, and promoting the adoption of OrganOx's products. This includes instructing users to ensure safe and effective use for organ preservation prior to transplant. They will serve as the primary contact for customers, maintaining relationships with clinical transplant teams. The role is home-based with frequent travel (40%-60%) to transplantation centers for on-site training, support, and review meetings. The specialist will participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (including weekends and holidays) for support.

The role involves promoting product benefits, facilitating customer experience sharing, and arranging user groups for shared learning. The specialist should develop in-depth knowledge of machine perfusion technologies, including NMP, HMP, and NRP, supported by relevant literature.

Responsibilities include tracking account performance, supporting forecasting, maintaining customer data in databases, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting commercial efforts in prospecting and lead generation. They will collaborate with various internal teams, resolve service issues, record feedback, and communicate with engineering teams for product improvements.

This is a remote position within the UK, with regular travel requirements.

Requirements:

The role's major responsibilities include:

  • Training and Support: Training transplant teams on device operation, maintaining competence, providing 24/7 support, logging calls, and resolving issues.
  • Adoption of OrganOx Products: Building customer relationships, developing adoption strategies, identifying champions, maintaining databases, collecting performance data, and supporting user groups.
  • Support for R&D, Quality, and Sales & Marketing: Reporting issues, assisting marketing, recording training, evaluating training quality, and reporting on installation and training status.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Maintaining good laboratory practices, continuous professional development, and adherence to company policies.

Skills & Experience required include excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, understanding of scientific literature, customer-focused approach, willingness to travel, problem-solving skills, technical dexterity, ability to work independently, and relevant experience in a clinical or laboratory setting. Qualifications include a minimum BSc in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with additional desirable qualifications listed.
