Job summary

Vector Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Utility Detection Surveyor for a leading survey consultancy. The role covers NW & Central England, field-based, with remote working considered where appropriate, and involves delivering utility detection surveys to PAS 128 standards.

The position is permanent with a salary of £36,000–£46,000 plus a company vehicle, overtime potential, and benefits. A full clean driving license is required, along with CSCS and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience undertaking Utility Surveys.
• Strong PAS 128 knowledge and related procedures.
• Understanding of site hazards and H&S procedures.
• Experience with Electromagnetic and GPR equipment.
• Full, clean driving licence and CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of a utility detection survey to PAS 128 standards.
• Produce written reports and ensure deliverables meet quality checks.
• Apply dynamic risk assessments on site and raise safety issues.
• Manage client expectations and communicate survey outputs clearly.
• Ensure site paperwork and permits are correctly handled.
• Support quality control and data processing post-survey.
• Operate with minimal day-to-day supervision and exercise technical judgment.
• Provide guidance to field teams and mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Maintain survey equipment and vehicle in good working order.
