Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd in the Midlands is recruiting a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join our field-based engineering team. You’ll install, maintain and test traffic signals and related electrical equipment across the UK, travel with a full driving license, and participate in a structured training path toward NVQ Levels and sector certifications.

You’ll work with skilled technicians, develop practical skills, handle cables, tools and vehicles, and be supported by our

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Willing to travel across regions and work in all weather.
• Experience or training in Electrical installations or related coursework.
• Commitment to training towards NVQ Levels and sector certifications.
• Ability to fault-find and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of traffic technology equipment across the UK road network
• Pull, terminate and label electrical and communication cables to support new traffic technology installations.
• Work closely with experienced Installation Technicians to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.
• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are kept clean, safe and fit for purpose.
• Participate in structured training and development programmes to build the skills required to become a fully qualified Traffic Installation Technician
