Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) for a national breakdown company servicing Wembley and surrounding areas. Role involves 40 hours weekly, shifts 6am–12am, six days; overtime at x1.5 or fixed hourly overtime at £30. You’ll report to the roadside team and help ensure members reach their destination safely.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Education

Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair

Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification

Full UK driving licence
