Job summary

MCS Group is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a field-based role across Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK. You will install, configure and support network equipment at customer premises, delivering practical LAN/WAN solutions and strong customer service.

The role requires 3+ years in network engineering, CCNA or JNCIA, a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with on-call duties. Salary £40,000-£45,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Network Engineering or field-based IT Support.
• CCNA or JNCIA qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install and support network infrastructure at customer sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN solutions.
• Work with switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support as required.
• Diagnose faults and deliver effective solutions.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and third-party providers.
• Provide customer training and technical guidance.
• Complete installation and commissioning documentation.
• Support onsite maintenance and network projects.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
• Travel to customer sites across Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK.
