Job summary

Clancy is seeking a hands-on Environmental Advisor to deliver on-site environmental excellence across civil engineering projects. You’ll support design, construction and reinstatement, ensuring compliance, minimizing impact and driving practical improvements on live sites.

This field-based role requires strong knowledge of environmental legislation, the ability to challenge where needed, and a genuine passion for protecting the environment through practical, on-site delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental role within civil engineering, construction or utilities.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and how it applies to operational projects.
• Ability to manage environmental risks and prepare environmental plans/reports.
• Comfort working with operational teams and challenging where necessary.
• Desire to protect and enhance the environment through practical, on-site delivery.
• Degree in environmental discipline; professional membership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Out on site undertaking environmental assessments and producing practical management plans.
• Working directly with operational teams to ensure works meet legal/regulatory requirements.
• Carrying out inspections and audits in line with permits and environmental legislation.
• Supporting incident management and ensuring lessons are learned.
• Monitoring environmental performance and translating data into actions.
• Engaging with colleagues, clients and regulators with pragmatic advice.
• Championing best practice and greener ways of working.
