Job summary

Abselion, based in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Field Applications Scientist to own the customer-facing technical sales process for Amperia. You will perform discovery calls, run hands-on demonstrations, and translate customer needs into compelling proposals.

The role is field-based with up to 75% travel across the UK and EU, with on-site work in Cambridge when not visiting customers. Ideal candidates hold an MSc with 3+ years in FAS or a PhD in a relevant field, plus bench experience in antibody

Qualifications

• MSc with at least 3 years' experience in Field Applications Scientist role or a PhD in the relevant field with 1+ year experience.
• Hands-on bench background in antibody development, protein expression, cell line development, or process development.
• Excellent pipetting technique and ability to work under time pressure.
• Experience using analytical instruments for protein quantification (ELISA, BLI, SPR, SEC-HPLC).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from start to end.
• Run discovery calls with prospective customers to understand their workflows.
• Translate customer requirements into sound demo proposals.
• Support the broader sales process alongside the Sales team.
• Plan and execute end-to-end instrument demonstrations in the UK and EU.
• Attend conferences primarily in the UK and EU.
• Provide structured customer feedback to internal teams.
