Job summary

Automation Experts Ltd. is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to develop and present solution-based applications across industrial, energy and building automation sectors. The role includes hybrid working with customer site visits across the UK and Ireland.

You will provide PLC-based automation solutions (IEC 61131-3), ideally using CODESYS, and support pre- and post-sales activities, tenders and technical documentation. A degree or Level 5 equivalent is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automation, controls or field applications engineering.
• Strong PLC knowledge IEC 61131-3, ideally CODESYS.
• Experience with automation protocols (BACnet, KNX, DALI, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus).
• Background in industrial, electrical or building automation environments.
• Engineering qualification and driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present solution-based applications across automation sectors.
• Support factory, process and building automation projects, including IoT and cloud-based services.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for automation, interface and IoT product portfolio.
• Support Sales and Business Development teams from lead qualification through to specification win.
• Deliver technical demonstrations and attend customer meetings with Area Sales Managers.
• Provide PLC-based automation solutions (IEC 61131-3), particularly using CODESYS.
• Deliver training and technical enablement to automation partners and customers.
• Assist with tenders, technical documentation and project bids.
• Maintain awareness of competitor products and emerging technologies.
• Work in a hybrid role combining home working, office collaboration and customer site visits.
