Job summary

TISICS Ltd. in Farnborough is seeking a Chemical Process Technician to operate the Fibre Plant and support safe production of silicon carbide fibre.

You will monitor plant conditions, adjust process parameters, carry out routine checks and respond to alarms while adhering to COSHH, PPE and site safety rules. You will work as part of a multi-skilled team with 40-hour weeks and potential shift changes as production grows.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and written instructions.
• Good level of numeracy and literacy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness and ability to work a shift pattern.
• Be able to work with very small quantities of mercury (PPE/training provided).
• Be able to work with hazardous chemicals (PPE/training provided).
• Ability to work safely with hazardous substances and industrial equipment.
• Reliability and safety-consciousness.
• Ability to use ladders, stairs, and work in fume hoods, at height.
• Good handling dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Operate fibre production processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor plant conditions, process parameters, alarms and equipment performance.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and sampling checks.
• Make adjustments to maintain production, quality and safety.
• Respond to plant alarms and equipment failures.
• Complete shift logs and production documentation accurately.
