Job summary

IQE PLC in Cardiff is seeking an Engineering Technician to support maintenance of semiconductor processing reactors and related equipment, focusing on reliability and efficiency through preventative maintenance and repairs.

You will carry out diagnostics, repair activities and maintenance tasks, working with Production, Engineering and Safety teams to improve equipment performance and uphold health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

HNC in an engineering discipline is required.
Experience in semiconductor/manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
Able to follow detailed instructions to completion.
Commitment to health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on epitaxial deposition systems and reactor equipment.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic and process faults.
Perform leak testing of vacuum chambers and gas lines.
Maintain, repair and refurbish reactor components and assemblies.
Follow maintenance processes and complete training and authorisations.
Develop understanding of semiconductor equipment, chemicals and safe working practices.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Safety to improve reliability.
Contribute to Health & Safety programme and Emergency Response Team.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
Undertake other duties to support manufacturing facility.
