Descripción del empleo

Fibre Network Planner – Enterprise & Wholesale

Fully Remote (UK) | Up to £40,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare | ASAP / December 2026 Start

We are recruiting an experienced Fibre Network Planner to join a growing UK fibre network operator, supporting the expansion of its enterprise, business connectivity and wholesale network services.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced planner with a strong technical understanding of Point-to-Point (P2P), Passive Optical Networks (PON), FTTP and Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA).

The role focuses on extending existing fibre infrastructure to connect new business, enterprise and wholesale customers. You'll be responsible for producing commercially viable, technically accurate designs, from initial feasibility and route planning through to detailed construction packs.

We need someone who can hit the ground running, work independently and deliver accurate designs in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and design fibre network extensions supporting enterprise, wholesale and business connectivity services.
  • Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for Point-to-Point, PON/FTTP and dedicated fibre connections.
  • Design network routes using Openreach PIA infrastructure, including ducts, poles and associated civils requirements.
  • Complete desktop feasibility assessments, route planning, cost estimates and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Produce detailed construction packs, including splice plans, cable routing, chamber specifications and network diagrams.
  • Assess network capacity, fibre counts, optical budgets and jointing requirements.
  • Review survey information, identify potential build constraints and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Maintain accurate GIS records, network inventory information and as-built documentation.
  • Work closely with commercial, project delivery and network build teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective designs.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven fibre network planning or design experience, ideally within an enterprise, wholesale or B2B connectivity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Point-to-Point fibre networks, PON and FTTP architectures.
  • Detailed, practical understanding of Openreach PIA engineering rules, including duct and pole infrastructure, capacity and compliance.
  • Experience producing detailed fibre designs, splice plans, construction packs and Bills of Materials.
  • Understanding of fibre routing, optical loss budgets, network capacity and civils constraints.
  • Experience using GIS or fibre planning software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, NetGeo, Vetro or similar.
  • Ability to manage multiple planning requests, work autonomously and deliver accurate designs to tight deadlines.

Experience planning enterprise circuits, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Layer 2 Ethernet or wholesale network extensions would be particularly advantageous.

We are especially interested in planners who have worked on business and wholesale fibre connections, rather than exclusively large-scale residential FTTP rollouts.

What's on Offer?
  • Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
  • Bonus: Additional performance-related bonus
  • Location: Fully remote – work from home anywhere in the UK
  • Benefits: Private healthcare
  • Opportunity: Join an expanding network operation with a growing enterprise and wholesale customer base
  • Start Date: ASAP, ideally early December 2026
