Job summary

Candidate Source is seeking a self‑employed Fibre Engineer to join our team and work across the Openreach network from installation to maintenance. Immediate starts are available across East, South and West London, with CIS payments and a hands‑on workload spanning residential and commercial connections.

You will install and test services on both overhead and underground networks, use splicers and subducting tools, and record work via mobile systems while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Basic IT skills for updating job records on mobile devices.
• NRSWA SLG/PIA, NOPS card and SMART Awards are essential qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Install telecom services across overhead and underground networks.
• Complete customer installations in homes and businesses.
• Work safely with live infrastructure including poles, cabinets and ducts.
• Record completed work using mobile job-management systems.

Job description

Getting customers connected properly means taking ownership of the job from the network all the way through to their home or business. As a self‑employed Fibre Engineer, you’ll work across the Openreach network, completing installation and maintenance work across both overhead and underground PIA infrastructure.

With immediate start dates available across East, South and West London, this CIS opportunity gives you hands‑on work across residential and commercial connections, from network buildouts through to customer installations.

Your responsibilities as Fibre Engineer

• Install new telecom services across overhead and underground networks, including cabling, & subducting
• Complete customer installations in homes, including internal cabling and service testing
• Work safely with live network infrastructure including poles, cabinets and ducts
• Clear minor blockages and complete minor network extensions where required
• Follow network safety, quality and site-restoration procedures on every job
• Record completed work accurately using mobile job-management systems

What we re looking for in a Fibre Engineer

• In‑date SA001, S8, SA051C, SA002, SA007, S7, N022, SA020, N037, K8 Hand Rod & Rope, NRSWA SLG and PIA certifications
• Current SMART Awards or NOPS card
• Practical knowledge of telecom networks, installation equipment, splicers, Tetra equipment and cable rodding tools
• Basic IT skills for completing job records and updates through mobile applications
• Full UK driving licence

There are immediate starts available, with 4 positions in East London, 2 in South London and 8 in West London.
