Job summary

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced embryologist to support the Hewitt Fertility Centre's diagnostic and therapeutic fertility services. The role involves advanced embryology procedures and maintaining strict quality control across the laboratory.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensure safe handling of samples, participate in audits, CPD, and keep up-to-date with HFEA guidelines and UKAS standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in treatment of patients with known high risk diseases (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis B & Hep C).
• Convey treatment details clearly to patients.
• Counsel patients on treatment options and outcomes.
• Maintain liquid nitrogen storage and handling.
• Follow HFEA regulations and participate in QC schemes to maintain UKAS accreditation.
• Liaise with other centres regarding workload, treatments, and transfers of gametes or embryos.
• Ensure accurate data collection and documentation for Hewitt Fertility Centre and HFEA.
• Contribute to research and CPD activities within the centre.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and assist in training staff.
• Provide Andrology cover when needed and participate in external quality schemes.
• Carry out administrative duties in the embryology laboratory.
