Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is assisting a growing accountancy practice in Ferndown to recruit a Practice Accountant. The role focuses on delivering high-quality accounts and tax services while building strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with VAT and statutory requirements.

You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, review financial records, and support senior staff. ACA/ACCA/AAT Level 4 or equivalent is required, with at least two years’ practice experience, plus strong software

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or AAT Level 4 qualification/studies.
• Previous accountancy practice experience.
• At least two years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax work.
• Knowledge of VAT returns and corporation tax.
• Experience using accounting software.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• A willingness to learn and develop.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
• A strong team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Preparing statutory accounts.
• Preparing corporation tax returns.
• Reviewing client financial records for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Managing day-to-day client queries and requests.
• Communicating professionally with clients by telephone, email and Microsoft Teams.
• Managing internal and external email queries.
• Maintaining accurate internal records and processes.
• Following up with clients to obtain information and documentation.
• Working towards defined performance targets and KPIs.
• Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
