Job summary

The Avenues Trust Group in Margate is hiring Female Support Workers to empower adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mobility needs to live as independently as possible.

You will provide person-centred care, help with daily tasks, and assist mobility; a full UK driving licence is essential as you will drive the service vehicle.

We offer full-time (39 hours) and part-time (30 hours) contracts with day and night shifts, plus award-winning training and a supportive team.

• Assist mobility needs using equipment and safe moving techniques (training provided).
• Help create meaningful experiences and celebrate achievements.

£25,845 per annum (pro rata)

Day and night shifts to be covered on a rota basis so must be able to work both.

About the Role

We're looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Female Support Workers to join our friendly teams across our services in Margate.

You’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, epilepsy, complex needs and mobility needs, empowering them to live as independently as possible while achieving their personal goals.

Some of the people we support use wheelchairs, so you’ll be confident providing person-centred support that promotes dignity, choice and independence.

Our services are located in residential areas close to Margate town centre and benefit from good public transport links. A driving licence is essential so you can support people to attend appointments, enjoy activities and access their local community using the service vehicle.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are ever the same. As a Support Worker, you’ll:

• Support people to live as independently as possible and achieve their personal goals
• Assist with everyday tasks including cooking, shopping, budgeting and maintaining a home
• Encourage participation in hobbies, activities and community life
• Support people to build and maintain relationships with family and friends
• Provide dignified, person-centred personal care where required
• Assist people with mobility needs using appropriate equipment and safe moving and handling techniques (full training provided)
