Job summary

1st Homecare in Kilmarnock is seeking Female Support Workers to deliver compassionate home care across the area. Roles include personal care, meal prep, medication prompts and daily living assistance, with split shifts and variety in full-time, part-time, and bank positions.

We welcome applicants without prior care experience; training is provided. PVG checks apply, with a requirement for a female candidate under Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1.

Responsibilities

Shift Options

We offer a variety of shift patterns to help you balance work with your lifestyle:

  • Bank and relief hours

Our full-time support worker rota follows a two-week repeating pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
    7:00am–2:00pm & 4:00pm–10:00pm (split shift) – 40 hours

  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
    7:00am–2:00pm & 4:00pm–10:00pm (split shift) – 30 hours

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to people in their own homes. You’ll support individuals with a variety of daily living tasks, including:

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Meal preparation and serving
  • Medication prompts and administration
  • Catheter care
  • Companionship and emotional support

This role is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Adults under the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scotland Act 2007. A PVG check will be required for successful applicants.

Due to the nature of the role, we require a Female candidate under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
