Job description

***We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker to join our team***

Position: Female Support Worker

As a Female Support Worker, ideally your experience will be in community-based settings, such as supported living and/or residential care.

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practice is essential.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) would be an advantage.

You will play a pivotal role in providing person-centred support for a nonbinary individual with a complex trauma history to develop essential life skills and independence.

  • They are supported on a 2:1 basis in their own home.
  • They are an avid animal lover and have rescue cats.
  • They are fun and engaging with a creative nature.
  • They have an interest in crystals, music, swimming and enjoy spending time with their son.
  • You will be part of a dynamic and resilient team that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and fosters a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing trauma-informed, person-centred support.
  • Supporting the individual to develop self-management tools to aid in their recovery and live a fulfilled life.
  • Supporting the individual to explore ways to increase understanding, insight, and motivation, viewing self-management of risk as an essential part of recovery.
  • Working with the individual to identify potential triggers that may lead to mental health decline and behaviours of concern.
  • Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.
  • Collaborating with the individual to create and implement tailored support plans.
  • Assisting in developing essential life skills such as cooking, personal hygiene, budgeting, and household management.
  • Supporting with medication, medical appointments, and maintaining good health and well-being.
  • Supporting community engagement and enabling participation in social events, accessing local services, and building meaningful relationships.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive care records, documenting progress, incidents, and outcomes.
  • Working closely with colleagues, family, external professionals, and other agencies to ensure holistic care.
Hours:

Support is provided on a 24/7 basis with a staffing ratio of 2:1. You will work on a rotational basis, supporting 12-hour shifts.

Additional Benefits:

Our Refer a Friend scheme offers a total of £500. This is split: £250 after working 100 hours, and another £250 upon passing probation (usually 6 months).
