Job summary

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is expanding in Greenock and seeks a motivated Support Practitioner to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll work with individuals with diverse needs, helping them grow in confidence and independence through an outcome-based programme.

Training is provided, including SVQ funding, and a full UK manual driving licence with at least 1 year of driving experience is preferred to support mobility needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals on an outcome-based programme to increase independence.
  • Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, appointments and activities.
  • Support with personal finances and personal care as needed.
  • Provide emotional guidance and help build meaningful relationships with family and friends.
  • Encourage exploration of new opportunities to reduce social isolation.

We’re expanding in Greenock!! Our fabulous team is on the lookout for a motivatedand creative *female colleaguewith a positive attitude to join them as aSupport Practitioneron a full-time, permanent basis.If you share our values andlooking for job satisfaction, then we want to hear from you! For thisrole,it is essential thatyou hold a full UKmanual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as the people we support have their own mobility cars. You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, you will support individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. The people we support have a range of different needs including mental health, learning disabilities, autism, addictions, criminal justiceand past trauma. You’ll play a key role in assisting with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, attending appointments and activities, handling personal finances, and personal care. As well as practical support, you’ll also offer emotional guidance and help individuals maintain meaningful relationships with their family and friends, empowering them to thrive in their own homes and communities With your help, you’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.

Shift patterns

Our dedicated team provide tailored support 24/7 and our shifts include earlies from 7:30am, back shifts until 8/9pm and sleepovers which are 24 hours. These roles do involve working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £107.60.

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer - this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
