Direct Services Department - Leicestershire County Council in Melton Mowbray is seeking a female-only Support Worker to join our 24 hours per week team. You will provide person-centred care in overnight respite and supported living settings, ensuring safety and independence for residents.

The role requires flexible, 24/7 service availability, with weekend/bank holiday shifts. Training will be provided, and we offer a generous annual leave entitlement and Local Government Pension Scheme.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care and support which maximises independence, is anti-discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations and procedures (such as Adult Safeguarding and Valuing People Now).
• Ability to use equipment to assist with moving and handling service users and to support people with complex needs and willing to attend training courses.
• Effective communication skills, including engaging with service users who may use alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, picture boards, signs).
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, respond to crisis situations, and attend meetings or training outside normal hours.
