Bluebird Care North Tyneside, Sunderland, North Northumberland & North Durham

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Bluebird Care - We believe, it's good to be home.

Are you an experienced care professional ready to step into a leadership role? We're looking for a compassionate, driven, and highly organised Care Supervisor to join our growing team, someone who leads by example and is committed to delivering outstanding homecare.

At Bluebird Care, everything we do starts with people. Our customers trust us to keep them safe, comfortable, and supported in their own homes. As a Care Supervisor, you'll be the person making sure that promise is kept - every visit, every day.

About Bluebird Care

We are the biggest private home care provider in the UK & Ireland and are proud to operate across four territories in the North East:

  • Bluebird Care North Tyneside
  • Bluebird Care Sunderland
  • Bluebird Care North Northumberland
  • Bluebird Care North Durham

Together, our four branches form one close-knit team with a shared mission: to provide safe, effective, and genuinely person-centered homecare that allows our customers to live well in their own homes. We are proud to develop our people from within, and we invest in our staff at every level.

About the Role

Reporting directly to theRegistered CareManager, you'll work collaboratively with the entire care management team to help oversee our services across all four territories. This is a varied, hands-on office-based role that puts you at the heart of both our customer experience and our operational delivery.

You won't just be managing a caseload. You'll be the reassuring presence our customers and care assistants rely on, the person who spots a problem before it escalates, and a key driver of the quality that makes Bluebird Care a premium care provider.

The working hours for this role are from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday (office hours). On occasion, you may be required to work outside of these hours (non-office hours).

What We Offer

  • Salary of £30,000 per annum
  • On-call remuneration
  • Access to Health and Social Care qualifications to support your professional development
  • Paid annual leave
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Uniform provided
  • Clear career progression pathways into senior or management roles
  • A supportive, collaborative team culture where you are valued from day one

What You’ll Be Doing

Working well with customers

Prior to each service commencing, you will carry out new customer sign-ups and risk assessments, creating and agreeing individually tailored, written care and support plans that respect each customer's wishes, dignity, and privacy. You will keep care plans up to date and ensure customers and their families are always well informed about the service.

Leading and supporting your team

You will give care assistants the information, guidance, and supervision they need to deliver safe, high-quality care. Working with our coordinators, you will help match support workers to customers, attend first calls to make introductions, and ensure any schedule changes are reported promptly to all relevant parties. You will also distribute, collect, and monitor MAR charts, and support the training and development of care assistants. Where needed, you will arrange and manage staff changeovers and briefings for live-in care assignments.

On-call responsibilities

You will take part in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota on a rotational basis. This includes managing on-call issues such as arranging cover for sickness and absence, attending or coordinating calls when needed, and recording and communicating emergency information to the relevant parties.

Driving quality and compliance

You will investigate service quality matters and implement meaningful improvements, carrying out quality reviews at customers' homes to ensure care is delivered in line with company procedures. You will apply Bluebird Care's policies and procedures at all times and ensure that accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and acted upon in line with regulatory requirements.

Being a key part of the Bluebird Care team

You will lead staff and customer meetings, work flexibly to meet business needs, and collaborate with health and social care professionals, customers' families, and colleagues across all four branches.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards a Level 3 at a minimum)
  • Experience working in a care setting
  • A good understanding of person-centered care and support planning
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, families, and professionals
  • Confidence leading and supporting a team of care assistants
  • Ability to write clear risk assessments, care plans, and records
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota
  • A full UK driving license with no more than 6 points and Class 1 business insurance (valid MOT required)
  • Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance

Where This Role Can Take You

This is more than a job - it's a platform. Care Supervisors at Bluebird Care are well placed to progress into senior or care management roles, with full training and support along the way. We are proud to grow our people from within.

*All applicants will be required to consent to an Enhanced DBS disclosure. A valid UK driving license and business use insurance are required for this role.*
