Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced FEED Area Engineering Manager to support the Design Services Alliance (DSA) at Sellafield. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams from project conception through Gate 2, delivering robust, safe, deliverable engineering solutions across a portfolio of projects in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires strong governance, scope management, and stakeholder engagement, with hybrid attendance at the Sellafield site and a commitment to safety,

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership experience within a highly regulated industry.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience delivering FEED, concept, feasibility, appraisal or optioneering phases of major capital projects.
• Experience developing engineering requirements and translating them into deliverable engineering solutions.
• Strong understanding of engineering governance and design assurance.
• Experience managing engineering scope, cost, schedule and technical risk.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior technical and programme stakeholders.
• Experience working within integrated engineering teams.
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (or working towards).
• Membership of a recognised professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through FEED activities across multiple projects.
• Define and mature engineering scope from initial concept through Gate 2.
• Develop engineering strategies aligned to programme and business objectives.
• Ensure engineering solutions are safe, legally compliant, proportionate and fit for purpose.
• Lead engineering integration across all engineering disciplines.
• Deliver Gate 0–2 mobilisation activities as reflected in the client role specification.
