Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking a caretaker to support the Federation Premises Manager in day-to-day site management across Oxford Road Community School and Wilson Primary School. The role runs 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm, with a permanent, all-year contract.

The post involves maintaining safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment, with opportunities for self-development. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team and work across two Victorian schools

Qualifications

• Must have good practical and general DIY skills.
• Ability to problem solve and work with external contractors.
• Experience in managing maintenance works during holidays and term time.
• Organisational and prioritisation skills, with willingness to work out of hours.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day site management across the federation schools.
• Maintain the condition of the schools and ensure a safe, clean and positive environment.
• Work with the Federation Premises Manager to coordinate and supervise maintenance tasks.

Based at across Oxford Road Community School and Wilson Primary School – Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday – To start as soon as possible.

Oxford Road Community School & Wilson Primary School are beautiful Victorian schools with a rich history. We are looking for a caretaker, to work alongside our Federation Premises Manager to take responsibility for the day to day site management across the federation, to continue to maintain the condition of the schools, ensuring a safe, clean and positive environment.

You Should Have
