Job summary

Equal Teaching in Wales is seeking a skilled tradesperson or experienced FE tutor to deliver Plumbing and/or Electrical Installation training to learners pursuing nationally recognised qualifications. You will conduct practical and theory sessions, assess learner work, and maintain safe workshops in line with industry standards.

The role requires current hands-on industry experience, Level 3 in Plumbing or Electrical Installation, and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Qualifications

• Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Plumbing or Electrical Installation.
• Recent hands-on industry experience at a skilled/craft level.
• GCSE/Level 2 English & Maths, or willingness to achieve this.
• A teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/Cert Ed), or willingness to work towards one.
• Enhanced DBS check (required for the role).

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theory sessions in your trade specialism(s).
• Assess learner work and prepare them for trade tests and exams.
• Maintain safe, well-organised workshops in line with industry regulations.
• Support learner progress, attendance and wellbeing as a personal tutor.
• Keep course content current with industry standards and awarding body requirements (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, EAL).
